As you move out of Kathmandu, we head for the Trishuli, which will give you an amazing experience rafting.

There is an option of taking a mountain flight from Kathmandu, which will give you a peek at the alluring views of snowcapped mountains, including the majestic Everest. When we reach Chitwan, we soak up the atmosphere of an amazing jungle retreat heightened by an exciting safari.

The views from Nagarkot and the Bhaktapur Durbar Square will be something that you remember forever.

Day by day trip itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu

Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon you will be given a briefing by your tour leader. You will be given an overview about the whole program. If you have any questions about this trip this is the right time to ask. In the evening the tour leader might arrange for a welcome meal in one of the better restaurants in the city.

Day 2: Kathmandu

There is an option of going for a mountain (Everest) flight in the morning. This is the best way to catch a glimpse as the peaks which includes the massive Mount Everest. This is the closest view of the mountains that you can get without having to undergo a strenuous trek. The flight is operated at a time period between 7:00 am to 10:00 am only.

We will take a guided tour of Kathmandu in the morning. First we will visit the Boudhanath Stupa. The Buddhist site is revered by the Vajrayana sect of Buddhism. The Stupa is colossal and beautiful. There is an air of spirituality about it and at one moment you will feel the magnanimity of Buddhist culture. All around the stupa there are shops selling Buddhist artifacts. These shops are mostly run by Tibetan refugees.

We will then drive to the temple of Pashupati Nath. This temple is considered the holiest of all temples in Nepal and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated at the banks of the river Bagmati, pilgrims and sages flock the temple. Last rites are performed on the premises of this temple and from afar you can even see a Hindu last rites being performed(B)

Day 3: Trishuli Rafting/Chitwan

In the morning we will head to the south west of Kathmandu towards the Pokhara highway. The drive might take us about 2 hours. We reach a place called Fisling, which will be the starting pointing of rafting. The Trishuli River is a rather safe river though it has numerous rapids. It has been graded 3+ by experts. After rafting for more than an hour we reach Munglin, which will be the end point of this rafting experience. Thence onwards, we hit the road for another 2 hours to Chitwan.

Once you reach Chitwan, you will be transferred to your lodge. The Chitwan National Park provides shelter to various species of birds and animals. They find refuge in this vast jungle, where only occasional tourists come to have a peek into the wild side of Nepal. The park was established in 1973 and is set in an area of 932 sq. km. There are more than 43 species of mammals, over 450 species of birds, and more than 45 species of amphibians and reptiles in this reserve. You can find the Chital, Sambar, Hog Deer, Barking deer, wild elephant, four horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin, Gangetic dolphin, monitor lizard, python, sloth deer, common leopard, ratel, palm civet, wild dog, langur and rhesus monkeys. You can also find endangered animals like the one horned rhinoceros, the Tiger, Gharial.

In the afternoon we will make an excursion to a neighboring village. The village is inhabited by the Tharu community where you might see a Tharu cultural dance program (BLD)

Day 4: Chitwan National Park

In the morning today we will make an elephant safari. This way we can move to various parts of the Jungle without any hindrances. You can closely watch the one horned rhino and other wonderful animals. We will later take a dug out canoe across the Rapti River. The river is home to Crocodiles but they do not attack humans unless provoked (BLD)

Day 5: Pokhara

We will catch our transport from Chitwan and make a 6 hour drive to Pokhara. Pokhara is a serene lake side town, with amazing places to visit and interesting things to see. The views of the Annapurna massif and especially the Machhapuchhare never leave you. While you are here, you can take a boat ride across the moss green water of the Fewa Lake. You can also ramble across the market place which has a lot of beautiful items for sale. You could also visit the Devil's fall here (BL)

Day 6: Pokhara

Set in a serene location with absolutely minimal pollution Pokhara is adorned all around with colossal peaks of the Annapurna range. All tourist find safe haven here as they seem to be away from the noise of the city and since Pokhara is the starting point of some of the most exclusive treks in the world, tourists flock this beautiful town.

You can either relax by the pool or go for boating on the Fewa Lake. Either way, Pokhara is an ideal place of relaxation (B)

Day 7: Kathmandu

Today we will drive back to Kathmandu. Once you reach Kathmandu, you will be transferred to Nagarkot. On the way we stop at Bhaktapur. The Bhaktapur Durbar Square is an incredible place to see the glory days of the kingdom of Bhaktapur. The entrance to the Durbar Square is by a golden gate. The gate is decorated by carvings dedicated to Hindu Gods. There are wonderful medieval monuments like the Nyatapola, which is a five storey temple.

Once we reach Nagarkot, you will be transferred to your hotel. Nagarkot is a place up in the hills covered by dense forests of pine. You can see the entire Annapurna range from here and down below you can see the valleys and cultivated fields and a river passing through. The place boasts of a formidable view of rural Nepal and has been attracting tourists for decades, including celebrities and Bollywood film makers (B)

Day 8: Nagarkot/Kathmandu

At a distance of about 14 km from Nagarkot lies the revered Changu Narayan Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the finest examples of the Pagoda style temples and dates back to the period of the Lichavis. Supposed to have been built in the 3rd century the temple is a work of architectural perfection of the Lichavis. We take a short cut through the forest and walk for about 2 hours to reach the temple. We drive back to Kathmandu from here (BL)

Day 9: Kathmandu

Today we will drive back to Kathmandu. Once you reach Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free to relax or shopping (B)

Day 10: Departure

The tour ends here. You will be transferred to the airport for departure (B)
